Buckeyes for Charity campaign raises $1 million for Ohio nonprofits

Ohio State faculty, staff and retirees donated more than $1 million to Ohio nonprofits through the 2025 Buckeyes for Charity campaign, which ran from mid-September to early November.

“The funds raised from this year’s campaign will be very meaningful to the organizations receiving them,” said Vice Provost for Engaged Scholarship and Community Engagement Jason Reece. “It will allow the nonprofits to better serve our neighbors in every corner of Ohio.”

In all, nearly 3,000 faculty, staff and retirees contributed to more than 650 nonprofits during the campaign. Programs and services provided by these agencies focus on food security, health and wellness, housing, animal welfare, education, advocacy programs, the environment and much more.

“The generosity shown through Buckeyes for Charity is second to none,” said Vice President for Government Affairs Stacy Rastauskas, who also served as a co-chair for this year’s campaign. “The outpouring of support for our communities exemplifies Ohio State’s land-grant mission.”

Nearly 80 people served as campaign ambassadors this year, coordinating awareness and fundraising in colleges, departments and the Wexner Medical Center.

“The ambassadors deserve a tremendous amount of thanks for the work they did this year supporting the campaign,” said Co-Chair Dan Like, chief administrative officer, ambulatory services at the Wexner Medical Center. “Across the medical center and the university, they made it possible for us to exceed our goal of $1 million.”

Since its inception in 1997, Buckeyes for Charity has raised more than $28 million to support communities across the state.
