Join your Buckeyes for Charity co-chairs in supporting Ohio nonprofits

Stacy Rastauskas, vice president for government affairs, and Dan Like, chief administrative officer, ambulatory services at the Wexner Medical Center, have been leaders at Ohio State for years, but in 2025 they have taken on new roles as co-chairs for Buckeyes for Charity, the university’s charitable giving campaign.

“I decided to serve as a co-chair this year because the Buckeyes for Charity campaign is our land-grant mission in action,” Rastauskas said. “Every day, I see and hear about Buckeyes making a difference in our communities in central Ohio, across the state and beyond. What is great about this campaign is that it allows Buckeyes to personally direct their support to the organizations of their choice.”

Since 1997, Ohio State faculty, staff and retirees have contributed more than $27 million to Ohio nonprofits through Buckeyes for Charity. This year there are nearly 700 community organizations eligible for support through the campaign.

“Buckeyes for Charity is a unifying effort that is directly in line with the university and the medical center’s mission to improve people’s lives,” Like said. “There is so much need in our community, and this is a convenient and impactful way for Ohio State faculty and staff to offer our support to something that matches a need that is close to all of our hearts.”

Programs and services provided by Buckeyes for Charity organizations focus on food security, health and wellness, housing, animal welfare, education, advocacy programs, the environment and much more. Donors can choose what is most important to them.

Like supports three organizations through Buckeyes for Charity: Mid-Ohio Food Collective, Lutheran Social Services of Central Ohio and Make-a-Wish Foundation

“All three are organizations that I have been involved in either through volunteerism, and/or I personally know several people that have greatly benefited from their amazing work and impact that each one of them provides,” he said.

Rastauskas noted she is passionate about education, mentorship and helping our neighbors have access to high quality food and housing.

“I support organizations that are addressing those community challenges,” she said. “I urge all my fellow Buckeyes to join us in improving the lives of our neighbors and fellow Ohioans.
